January 2019 – Date TBA

Greetings Canisius High School Crew Families,

The CHS Crew Leadership is working diligently to support the coaches so they can successfully implement our Mission Statement:

“The mission of Canisius High School Crew is to support the overarching mission of Canisius High School: to form men of conscience, courage and character who are loving, intellectually competent, religious, open to growth, and committed to justice. The Crew program supports this mission by providing an arena for physical, personal, social, and spiritual growth through a challenging dynamic of training and competition. The leadership of the Crew team believes that athletics, complement academics, and that oarsmen are scholar-athletes. We aspire to compete successfully at the highest levels in North America, developing a selective top-tier varsity program supported by a developing freshmen and junior varsity core. We strive to maintain ‘the relentless pursuit of excellence’ both on and off the water.”

There are many benefits rowing offers our young men. While academics are the first priority, being a student-athlete means focusing on self-discipline and time management. Our coaching staff is recognized internationally for their abilities to produce student-athletes who not only compete at the highest levels but also instill the willingness to achieve greater goals. They hold our boys to a higher standard of academics, personal responsibility and team work. They are “Men for Others”.

The Winter Social is a great way to get to know the coaches, parents, friends of CHS Rowing and former rowers and their families. It is also our primary fundraiser for the year. Please consider supporting your team!

Please join us for a few drinks and good conversation. Please come to the Winter Social, even if you can only come for a little while. If you can’t attend, please consider donating.

Invitation and additional information to follow.
Thank you.
